All You Need is Some Good 'Ole CondomSense...

Friday October 17, 2008

Here’s the scenario, a responsible couple has made the decision that they are going to move their relationship to the next level and have sex. They discussed birth control options with each other and decided that they would start off by using condoms. The next day, they arrive, together, at their local drugstore to buy a pack of condoms. How hard could this be – right? Go in, grab a box, pay, leave.

They navigate through the store to the family planning section; to their utter surprise, there are rows and rows of condom types….ribbed for her pleasure, ultra thin, lubricated, textured, XL (oh my!). This poor couple begins to panic, as it begins to dawn on them that they have absolutely no idea which one to buy.

With so many kinds of condom types to choose from, what’s a couple to do? Is one brand or style better than the rest? Although most condoms can help protect against sexually transmitted infections and reduce the risk of pregnancy, they are not all are made the same.
