RU486 (brand name Mifeprex), also known as the abortion pill has been widely, effectively, and safely used in France, Sweden, and Great Britain for years, and RU486 is also FDA-approved to be used in the United States. The FDA approved this method for use up to 49 days after one's last menstrual period or if a woman is 7 weeks pregnant (which equals 5 weeks since conception). Also, when RU486 is combined with misoprostol, it is 92% to 98% effective, allowing a woman to end her pregnancy without the use of surgery. The abortion pill (technically considered a medical abortion) can only be obtained from a healthcare professional.

I am an early abortion doctor. Thank you for educating women about the Abortion Pill. It is an excellent early abortion method. Many women don’t know about another early abortion method called the “Aspiration Procedure” or Manual Vacuum Aspiration. It is a 5 minute nonsurgical natural procedure that can be done in a private doctor’s office. It has significant advantages over the Abortion Pill because it can be done in one visit, there is much less bleeding, usually much less discomfort, and a higher success rate. I hope you will put some information on this method on your site.
