Don't Let the Summer Heat Sizzle Your Birth Control Effectiveness

Now that summer is almost upon us, it is extra important that you pay attention to how to properly store your birth control. Make sure to read package inserts carefully to determine what a safe storage temperature is. Most birth control methods are not susceptible to the heat. Fo example, take special caution with male condoms as the effectiveness of this birth control method can be compromised due to the higher summer temperatures. On the other hand, contrary to popular belief, female condoms do not become damaged in high temperatures or humidity, so they typically do not require special storage conditions ( just make sure that you are inserting them correctly!).
