Nexplanon's One Year Anniversary in the US!

This month, Nexplanon (a newer form of the birth control implant Implanon) has now been officially available in the US for just about a year.  The progestin-only Nexplanon implant received FDA approval last year even though it has been available in the UK. For just around a year now, US women have been offered the opportunity to have their doctors insert Nexplanon. One insertion equals three years of pregnancy protection. Nexplanon allows for more accuracy during the insertion process than Implanon. When inserted properly, it is 99.9% effective - making it one of the most effective long-acting, reversible methods of contraception.
